This morning, I informed the Board of Trustees that I would be seeking time away from the day-to-day of being your superintendent effective July 1, 2022.
As difficult as it was for me to make this decision, I made the request now to allow for the Board of Trustees to identify an interim superintendent for the upcoming school year.
There is no denying that the last couple of years have been some of the most difficult for our district, and the world as we navigated together through the biggest crisis of our lifetime in COVID-19.
As a result of the grueling pace that I have been living through for the last two years, I find myself needing a moment of pause to ensure that I am able to perform at the level of excellence that I have established in myself. I also want to use this time away to think about the type of challenges that I need to feel fulfilled both as a person and a professional.
Like you, for me to truly be at my best, I need to feel that I am able to be at my best with my family. The reality of the circumstances has made it very difficult for me to truly give them, and me, the quality of life that is necessary for human beings to live happy and fulfilled lives.
As I take this moment to identify the special assignment that I will seek to undertake for the District, know that I am eternally grateful to all of you for your friendship and support. You made the most difficult days inspiring, as I knew that we were in this crisis together.
May you and your families have an amazing summer. If you can, please take this time to take care of yourself and your loved ones.
