Every Day Counts: The Importance of Attendance

January 2022

As we start 2022, Santa Clara Unified School District remains committed to the health and safety of our school communities. We continue to follow the guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Public Health Department to ensure students are safe to return to school. For the latest updates, please visit our website at www.santaclarausd.org.

The Importance of Attendance and Routines

Maintaining a school routine is key to students’ academic success and social-emotional well-being. Families are encouraged to send their students to school as long as they are healthy.

Testing and Screening Opportunities

Following are a few steps you can take to help safeguard the wellbeing of your family and our entire school community:

  • Get vaccinated and boosted as soon as eligible, wear a face mask, and get tested weekly.
  • SCUSD is offering free covid testing. Visit the COVID-19 Testing Center at Wilcox High School’s Performing Arts Center, which is open seven days a week. For more information, please visit our website at www.santaclarausd.org/covid19testing
  • All schools are participating in weekly Concentric testing. If your child is not currently participating in this testing, enrolling is not too late. Visit our district website at www.santaclarausd.org/COVID19/weeklyscreening to print out the Concentric Testing form; once it has been completed, please return it to your child’s school office, or you can also stop by your school office to pick up a form.
  • You may also consider testing opportunities through your healthcare provider or a Santa Clara County testing facility.

Vaccination Clinics

SCUSD is partnering with the Santa Clara County Public Health Department again to bring vaccine clinics to Santa Clara Unified School District.

The vaccine clinics will offer 1st, 2nd, and booster doses FREE to all individuals ages 5 and older while supplies last.
