SCUSD Independent Study Program Update

En Español

November 2021

Dear Santa Clara Unified School District Community,

At the September 23, 2021 board meeting, the Board of Trustees voted to guarantee a return to the previous school of attendance for the 2022-2023 school year for students who enrolled in the SCUSD Independent Study Program (ISP) or a homeschool program during the 2021-2022 school year. Families who choose to return to in-person learning during the current (2021-2022) school year may return to their previous school of attendance if space is available.

  • If your child is currently enrolled in the SCUSD ISP and you would like them to return to in-person learning for the current school year (2021-2022) please email tnixon@scusd.net. Students will return to their previous school of attendance if space is available. If space is not available at the previous school of attendance, students will be overloaded (transferred to nearest school site with available space).
  • If your child is currently enrolled in the SCUSD ISP and you would like them to return to their previous school of attendance for the 2022-2023 school year, this will happen automatically. No action is needed. A decision to provide an ISP next year has not been determined.
  • If your child is currently attending a home school program and you would like them to return to in-person learning in SCUSD at their previous school of attendance for the 2022-2023 school year, please contact the Enrollment Center by February 4, 2022, to confirm your child will be returning to SCUSD. Requests received after this date will not be guaranteed.
