Congratulations to Patti Jenkins, a 3rd grade Spanish bilingual teacher at Scott Lane Elementary School, who recently received a $1,000 DonorsChoose grant from 49ers EDU and College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers.
This year’s awards were different from the normal celebrations hosted to honor all of the winners because we couldn’t celebrate in person. However, Jenkins did receive her announcement in a video call and was clearly surprised and honored. In her humble fashion, Jenkins went on to thank all of the Scott Lane community who she said, “drive me and help me to be a better human being.”
In the virtual announcement on September 14, Assistant Superintendent Kathie Kanavel explained that Patti Jenkins is considered “an educator that has gone above and beyond to reach each and every student in the classroom.”
The Extra Yard for Teachers initiative recognizes educators for the hard work they put into our community by praising our great classroom leaders. Jenkins gets to use the $1,000 for any classroom supplies that she needs to support her students.
We are #SCUSDproud, Patti, keep up the great work.
