Celebrating our Class of 2020 Graduates

June 2020

Much to our disappointment, we were unable to celebrate traditional high school graduation ceremonies with our 2020 graduates. We understand how saddening this is for our seniors and, with this in mind, did everything we could to show them how just special we think they are.

We created personalizable yard signs and, with the help of over 125 volunteers, we delivered almost 1,200 signs to the homes of our grads. It’s been heartwarming to see all of the signs proudly displayed by families throughout the district.

All of our graduates were invited to have a professional cap and gown portrait taken of them when they came back to school to return their school materials. We posted all of the photos on our Flickr account so that grads and their families can download the graduation portraits for free. Here are the links to view and download the photos:

Using these photos, we produced an online graduation ceremony for each of the schools celebrating all of their achievements. Each video live-streamed on our YouTube channel on the school’s scheduled graduation day. Students, families, friends, and community tuned in to watch the live stream and celebrate together through our live chatbox. Here are the links to the videos:

Last, but not least, many of our high schools hosted farewell drive-thrus where students and families could decorate their vehicles, wave to their teachers and school staff, and enjoy an official send-off. Photo highlights of the drive-thru celebrations will be shared in the photo links shared above.

All of this was done while adhering to very specific social distancing guidelines to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

We can’t speak highly enough of our graduates and wish them all the best as they transition to the next chapter in their lives. We hope to hear from many of them over the coming years to learn about all of the wonderful things they are doing.

It’s been a pleasure teaching you and learning with you, Class of 2020. We are so proud of you. Stay safe out there!
