In January 2020, Santa Clara Unified School District’s Family Resource Center (FRC) announced a grant donation of $4,000 from The Mission City Community Fund (MCCF). This is the FRCs largest single award since its opening in 2017. The grant provides extended support to families in our district supported by the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.
The MCCF was founded in 1986 by a group of Santa Clara community residents in an effort to offset a shortage of federal financial support for local community-based programs and education systems. The objective of the MCCF is to enrich the quality of life for our Santa Clara communities, by focusing on five areas of giving — social services, education, health care, theater, and the arts. Every donation from the MCCF has had a positive impact on the lives of our program participants and our community.
This school year, the FRC has helped over 300 families to date, some of which participate in the McKinney-Vento Act. The FRC is extremely grateful to our district staff, community partners, and numerous selfless individuals for providing their time, financial support, and resources. Your continued support allows us to help families and students by providing them the structure needed to create a positive school environment despite their socioeconomic status or living situation.
Please accept our very warm appreciation — your generosity is a gift to us all. If you would like more information about the MCCF or how you can help support our FRC, please call 408-423-3541.
