Integration and Innovation in the Physical Education Classroom
Teacher Maureen Wyland recently reached out to support teachers on special assignment Leanna Goldenberg (educational technology) and Angie Scott (physical education) to collaborate on an innovative way for students to provide feedback to one another.
To eliminate the use of pencils in the wrestling room, students now provide feedback to small groups of choreographed tumbling performances using Chromebooks, Google Classroom, and Google Forms. Students give and receive constructive feedback to use as reflections as they continuously improve their group presentations and design tumbling routines that reflect the weeks of learning about tumbling and movement.
Thanks to Maureen's collaborative spirit, learning transcended across departments and curriculum to make powerful improvements to her teaching practices.
