In November, members of the Delta Rho Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma prepared a delicious Mexican dinner for residents and guests of JW House. The Delta Rho Chapter has been active in Santa Clara since 1957 with most of its members currently teaching or retired from Santa Clara Unified.
Located on the campus of Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center, JW House welcomes families from area hospitals for rest and self-care during the day or overnight while their loved one is in the hospital. They offer hope, hospitality, and healing. Dinner is served 365 days a year and Delta Rho was a much-welcomed dinner sponsor.
As an international society of women educators, Delta Rho offers scholarships to women students entering college to seek a career in education and also scholarships for advanced degrees in education. In addition, over the years, Delta Rho has donated over $150,000 to the arts in SCUSD and two of its dedicated members serve on the board of the Santa Clara Schools Foundation.
