On May 23, Santa Clara High School held their annual Day of the Arts celebration — a whole day dedicated to celebrating the creativity and artistic expression of our students.
Day of the Arts expands each year and has developed into an event that the whole school looks forward to. Throughout the day, students from various classes visit to see paintings, photography, ceramics, and much more. Community members also get to check out the work during an evening reception the night before the event.
“We are so proud of the creativity of our SCHS students, and we are thankful for the teachers that inspire and guide them,” says Principal Greg Shelby.
Day of the Arts is organized by Visual and Performing Art Department Chair Neil Woodman with assistance from fellow art teachers Jason Fery, Abbey Sinclair, Ara Tanajian, and Erik Torres. There are also exhibits and performances by Kathy Hopp's culinary students, Mitch Posey's construction students, Johnny Erdman's music students, and Angelo Reyes' drama students.
