Wilcox Post Secondary Students Volunteer at The Farm
In September and October, Wilcox post-secondary students kindly volunteered at The Farm once a week to help plant, tend, and harvest the produce for the SCUSD kitchens. They harvested tomatoes, deadheaded marigolds, helped cut pumpkins from the vine, and even set up hay bales for the district’s pumpkin patch.
More recently, they have been removing old ground covers, stakes, and soaker hoses, and planting cauliflower. This year, they will be helping get the spring crops planted in trays and put in the greenhouse. As well as planting more of the winter crops like broccoli, carrots, beets, kale, bean, and radish in the main field.
Keep up the great work everyone! We appreciate your dedication to The Farm.
