Computer Science Classes get a Boost from Mission City Community Fund

On December 10, the Mission City Community Fund (MCCF) generously presented Santa Clara Unified School District with a check for $2800 to purchase seven Adafruit Circuit Playground Express Educators kits.

The kits are hardwired with programmable sensors, LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes), and much more. The circuit playgrounds have limitless possibilities. The alligator clips connect the circuit with outside pieces allowing for amazing creativity such as a “player banana.” Each set is reusable and the grant allows for each secondary school to have its own set for use in 7th through 9th grade computer science classes.

“We are truly grateful to MCCF for this support,” said Karen Hardy, Teacher on Special Assignment in Computer Science.
