The fires in Butte County are affecting the air quality in our area and the forecast for the Santa Clara Valley showed movement from "Moderate" (yellow) into "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" (orange) during this afternoon. However, winds shifted bringing more smoke into the area and moving the AQI into the “Unhealthy” (red) range.
Based on the forecasted AQI, outdoor activities will be limited and we are monitoring students for symptoms such as coughing or shortness of breath with indoor space ready for those that need it. We are aware that winds can change quickly, changing air quality in a short time, and we are prepared to continue to adjust our activities accordingly. We will issue a follow-up communication if that happens.
As always, please feel free to contact your school site or the District Office if you have any questions or concerns.
