Wilcox High School Student Brings STEM to Life

On September 15 in West Virginia, Wilcox High School 9th grader Komal Krishna Keesara and his team member from a different school district won 1st place in the World Robotic Olympiad (WRO) 2018 US Nationals, in the Regular Junior Category. We are excited to share that the talented duo, team Clarity, was the only team to get a perfect score in their category and they also took 2nd Place in Best Robot Design in the same division.

Team Clarity will be traveling to Thailand this month —  along with 3000 plus participants from more than 64 countries — to represent the USA in the WRO international Finals. SCUSD is very proud of Keesara for bringing STEM to life with his grasp of robotics and we can’t wait to hear all about the trip to Thailand!

WRO-USA is a national member of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO), an international robot competition that brings together young people from all over the world to develop their creativity, design & problem-solving skills through challenging & educational robot competitions and activities. WRO-USA organizes competitions throughout the US at regional, state, and national levels. Top teams from the national level competition earn an invitation to the World Championships.
