FAQs
What is a pilot program?
In anticipation of full implementation of the state-mandated Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) for the 2023-2024 school year, we will be piloting an additional after school program at your child’s school site. The pilot program at your school site will run from March 13 - June 30, 2023 (except Westwood, which runs through June 1). We are partnering with Right At School to build a shared extended day program model for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year in SCUSD, including programs run by our own Family Child Education (FCE) department, and those run through ASES (After School Education and Safety) program providers. The pilot program this spring will inform and refine our planning before launching a program on a large scale districtwide.
What is Right at School?
Right At School is an extended day program provider. They will provide staffing and a daily program focused on academic support and enrichment, interventions, social-emotional wellness and support, and more! Each day starts with a community meeting and snack, and the fun continues from there.
