Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP)
Each year, districts are required to develop an LCAP that explains the district's:
- Prior year progress toward its goals.
- Goals and actions planned for the coming three years.
- Processes used to engage parents, students, staff, and the community in the development of the plan.
The first year of the three-year LCAP is a time to set goals, actions and desired outcomes that will span the three years. Throughout each year, program monitoring and evaluation and analysis of student data takes place through a cycle of inquiry. In each subsequent year, an annual update is reported to the California Department of Education and based on the annual update, adjustments can be made to the plan actions and expenditures.
The 2022-2023 Annual Update to the LCAP was approved by the Board of Trustees at the June 23, 2022 board meeting.
The 2023-2024 Annual Update to the LCAP is available for review and public comment from May 22 to June 6, 2023, and is scheduled for board action at the June 22, 2023 board meeting.

By June 30 | LCAP is recommended to Board of Trustees for approval and submitted to the Santa Clara County Office for further review
Parents, community members, and staff provided input on the 2021-2024 DRAFT LCAP for the 2021-2022 school year through a district-wide survey. An overview of the LCAP was also presented to the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) and District Advisory Committee (DAC), and to the school board during the May 11, 2021, Board Study Session. The DRAFT plan was posted here for public comment from May 14 through June 16, 2021. The superintendent is required to provide comments to any questions that are posed by the DAC and DELAC and those comments were posted here. Annual Updates to the LCAP will follow the same public review and comment process and timeline each year. The goals, actions, and metrics will guide and focus all staff on improving student achievement for our high-need students. There is a strong alignment between the LCAP and the district's vision and strategic plan.
What is the purpose and relationship between the LCAP and the district's vision and strategic plan?
While our vision and strategic plan articulate the overarching vision, goals, and actions for the district as a whole, the LCAP is a focused look at what we will provide over and above our core program to students whose needs go beyond the core. The LCAP itself is a lengthy document with three years of information and an annual update included.
