Santa Clara Unified School District, in partnership with the City of Santa Clara and Footsteps2Brilliance, is proud to introduce Rising Readers, our new innovative districtwide, citywide literacy initiative. Through this initiative, all Santa Clara Unified and City of Santa Clara families — whether they are enrolled in SCUSD schools or not — will have FREE access to the award-winning Footsteps2Brilliance early learning literacy app in English and Spanish.

Footsteps2Brilliance is a FREE literacy app created by educators to give your preschool through 3rd grade child a head start in school. The app provides a comprehensive, research-based literacy curriculum of over 1,000 English and Spanish books, songs, and games that are fun for children and easy for parents to access on any smartphone, tablet, or computer with or without an internet connection. 

By March 3, 2017, we had already surpassed our goal of reading 5 million words so let's keep the momentum going!
