    Our Mission

The Family Resource Center (FRC) has a centralized location to increase collaboration and provide additional streamlined services and resources to help families become more engaged in their child’s education. The services will help families access critical information that is readily available in accessible formats and languages promoting culturally appropriate practices reflecting our parent community.

    Our Background

The FRC was identified as a priority through the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and Strategic Planning processes. The initial focus of the FRC was to serve students identified as English Learners, foster and homeless youth, free and reduced lunch eligible, and those with special needs. The FRC represents a collaborative effort, overseen by the Student Services Department. The FRC began helping families meet their basic needs at home with toiletries, food, school supplies, and clothes. In addition to establishing a successful food distribution process that is easily accessible to SCUSD families, the FRC has become a centralized location where families can access resources, educational opportunities, and referral support.

    Our Services

The FRC provides families with resources in the area of basic needs. The FRC also connects families to outside services in order to enhance their support networks.

    Clothing and Toiletries

Families can pick up clothing, toiletries (and other items based on donations) at the FRC on a monthly designated distribution day.

    Food Distribution

Food is for SCUSD families who are free and reduced lunch eligible. Food is distributed once a month on a first come first serve basis between 1-4 p.m. A robocall is placed each month to all families on the free and reduced lunch list with the day of distribution.
