The Santa Clara Unified Board of Trustees, at the November 18, 2021 board meeting, voted on the opening grades and grandfathering rules for Kathleen MacDonald High School (MHS). For the 2022-2023 school year, MHS will open for 9th grade and a new grade will be added each year as the students progress to the next grade level. All current 8th grade students living within the MHS boundary will attend MHS unless the grandfathering rule applies or they are accepted to a school of choice through open enrollment. Grandfathering Rules:

Rising 9th graders with a rising 10th-12th grade sibling at Santa Clara or Wilcox High School, may request that their 9th grade child attends the same school as their rising sibling. Last date to request this by filling out the Kathleen MacDonald High School Sibling Enrollment Intent Form was January 21, 2022. Transportation will continue to be provided for grandfathered students until the 2025-2026 school year.
