Family Child Education Homepage

  • The Family Child Education (FCE) office is located on the Educational Options campus. This department provides programs for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, including before and after-school enrichment programs, onsite at elementary school campuses throughout the district.

Family Child Education (FCE) is a department of Santa Clara Unified School District that has been proudly serving children and families since 1968. All families deserve access to quality early education and supportive services that will promote children's healthy development and future success. FCE is dedicated to creating positive change, taking an active role in early education issues at the local, county, and statewide levels to support children, parents, and early education providers.

    Our Purpose

FCE is dedicated to excellence for all children by providing a safe and healthy learning environment based on developmentally appropriate practices. Our programs respect family diversity, uniqueness, foster self-esteem and personal growth for students, families, and staff.

The purpose of the programs is to provide an environment in which children can thrive, offering "hands-on," researched-based curriculum where children can learn through activity and play; grow at their own pace, and ensure children attend school eager and excited to learn.

Thank you to the more than 100 families that attended our FCE & ELOP virtual town halls this week to learn more and ask questions. As promised, here is the family town hall recording, which includes the full question and answer (Q&A) session at the end. Additionally, an FAQs section of our FCE webpage is under development. You will begin to see FAQs posted with additional questions being added on Monday. At the top of the webpage you will find a form to submit any additional questions you may have that are not covered in the FAQs.
