Together, we succeed! Through a shared commitment to our students, staff, families, and community, we will achieve our North Star.

Student Learning and Achievement

The Journey to SCUSD's North Star

Part of Dr. Wright's on boarding for the 25-26 school year, he used community enGEMENT TO create the North Star Document. Planning, preparation, monitoring, and evaluation are essential to the continuous growth of any successful organization. As part of the 100-Day Plan during the 25-26 school year, Dr. Wright lead a comprehensive Listening and Learning Campaign designed to gather meaningful feedback from students, staff, families, and community partners. This feedback guided the development of our North Star document which helped us create clear goals and actionable strategies that move Santa Clara Unified School District forward.

The Listening and Learning Campaign also reflects my core leadership philosophy: building trust through authentic engagement. As Superintendent, I am committed to earning the trust and respect of our community by consistently demonstrating five essential qualities of leadership:

Competence, Consistency, Concern, Candor, and Connection

The insights gathered from our educational partners will help shape a student-centered vision rooted in equity, innovation, and advocacy. Together, we will ensure every student is equipped to thrive as a capable, confident, and productive citizen. By listening intentionally and leading collaboratively, we will lay the foundation for a stronger, more inclusive future for Santa Clara Unified.

With one shared vision, one set of priorities, and one united team, we can deliver on the promise of public education for every child in our care.

Dr. Damon Wright
