The Listening and Learning Campaign also reflects my core leadership philosophy: building trust through authentic engagement. As Superintendent, I am committed to earning the trust and respect of our community by consistently demonstrating five essential qualities of leadership:

The insights gathered from our educational partners will help shape a student-centered vision rooted in equity, innovation, and advocacy. Together, we will ensure every student is equipped to thrive as a capable, confident, and productive citizen. By listening intentionally and leading collaboratively, we will lay the foundation for a stronger, more inclusive future for Santa Clara Unified.

At the November 13 regular Board Meeting, Superintendent Dr. Wright presented his findings, reflections, and next steps from his first 100 days as SCUSD superintendent.

The 100-Day Report offers our community an in-depth look at the listening and learning journey that took place during Superintendent Wright’s first months of building relationships within our community. The report brings together the voices and perspectives of our educational partners, key data trends, and the lived experiences shared by students, staff, families, and community members.

While not intended as a strategic plan or formal data analysis, the report offers a clear picture of our district’s strengths, areas for growth, and recommendations to guide our next steps. Most importantly, it sets the stage for developing a student-centered vision rooted in equity, innovation, and strong advocacy for every learner. Through intentional listening and collaborative leadership, this work lays the foundation for a more inclusive and forward-thinking future for Santa Clara Unified School District. 

100-Day Report to the Board Recording
