Mental Health and Wellness

What is Wellness?

SCUSD Wellness creates a caring and connected culture to positively impact academic success and build capacity for social-emotional growth.

As part of an integrated team, Wellness provides resources, advocacy, and education to address the ever-changing needs of our diverse school communities. Through connection and collaboration, Wellness ensures all SCUSD community members have access to resources and support for emotional and academic growth.

Uwill (formerly ToBeHonest (tbh)) — Mental Health Services

SCUSD partners with Uwill, a free online platform offering mental health services to students and families. Through tbh, students and families have access to resources, including a library of mental health resources, group sessions, and real-time messaging support.

Securly — Online Safety

The district also continues its valuable partnership with Securly. This service alerts the district when online activity on district devices is determined to be a safety concern (bullying, mental health, violence, etc.) that requires direct support. For more information, please visit the Student and Family Handbook

Additional Support Systems

If your child is struggling with issues related to mental health and well-being, here are some ways to get support:

  1. Talk to your student's teacher or a site administrator to inform the school of your concerns and make a support plan.
  2. Contact your school counseling office, where school counselors can provide academic, social, and emotional support for all secondary students.
  3. Wellness Coordinators — licensed mental health clinicians — are also available for consultation and assistance through your schools’ Wellness Centers.
  4. Engage with our Family Resource Center for resources, referrals, and parent/guardian education sessions and workshops.

If your child needs to take a mental health day this year, contact your school office for assistance. Please reach out to your school site if you have any questions or concerns about resources available to assist with your child’s well-being. Our intent is to provide services and learning that support the diverse needs of our student community.
