Bullying Prevention
Santa Clara Unified School District (SCUSD) is dedicated to fostering safe, welcoming, and nurturing learning environments for all students. We believe that physically and emotionally secure schools and communities promote academic achievement, responsible citizenship, consistent school attendance, and active engagement.
Staff at SCUSD encourage students' social-emotional development by providing safe and age-appropriate opportunities to resolve conflicts, develop strong decision-making skills, and enhance empathy.
Building positive school climates and cultures, where bullying behaviors are less likely to occur, is a community-wide responsibility. All students and school personnel are directly taught how to behave in safe, respectful, and responsible ways, and resources are available when students need more targeted and intensive support.
SCUSD has policies that support reporting of any bullying behavior. School personnel who witness acts of discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or bullying are mandated to take immediate action to intervene (BP & AR 5131.2). The modeling of respectful and civil behavior by adults is also a key strategy in maintaining positive school climates.
Bully Reporting Tool
If you, or someone you know, is being bullied, please report the matter to your principal immediately. Starting on October 27, 2025, students will also have the option to report incidents of bulling on our SCUSD Safe Schools form, found in the Classlink portal. Our goal is to quickly identify bullying, address it, and provide support.
