Project Based Learning

Currently, 12 schools in SCUSD have started their Project Based Learning (PBL) implementation with Central Park Elementary being our lighthouse campus. Over ninety teachers have participated in multiple workshops and Community of Practice events to build and expand their knowledge as they apply and transfer their skills to students.  

Our PBL vision statement drives our efforts which reads: 

In SCUSD, the systematic and reflective implementation of Project Based Learning will engage all students in personally relevant and meaningful work.
These sustained learning experiences will lead students to achieve the attributes of the graduate portrait and thrive in college, career, and civic life.

During the 2022 - 2023 school year, our twelve PBL sites will continue to have the opportunity to participate in PBL professional learning opportunities as shared in this informational flyer. Shared are a variety of PBL projects that have been implemented.
