Vice Principal Series

The vice principal series is designed to equip current vice principals in SCUSD with the skills and knowledge to successfully transition to the principalship. All learning experiences align with Santa Clara Unified Essential Leadership Priorities and classes are taught by current SCUSD administrators.  

Participants receive in-depth training on how to be a successful instructional leader focusing on topics including facilitating standards-based instruction, leading school teams, conducting purposeful educator evaluations and improving school performance. Vice principals learn other responsibilities of the principalship such as addressing ethical issues, engaging families and community, supporting social emotional learning, managing change, and overseeing school budgets. Participants will also practice preparing for the principal interview.
