Buchser Middle and Washington Open Elementary Master Plan

In order to create a plan that encompasses all of Buchser and Washington Open's assets, SCUSD is creating a phased master plan for the campuses.

A master plan is a dynamic long-term planning document that provides a visionary site plan to guide future expansion with enhanced student and community access to the sites.  The master plan construction will be arranged in phases, none of which are funded.  

Areas Included in the Master Plan

Buchser Middle:

  • Field improvements
  • Additional student support spaces
  • Additional instructional spaces according to Vision 2035
  • Administration

Washington Open Elementary:

  • Multipurpose and kitchen
  • Preschool, transitional kindergarten and kindergarten classrooms
  • Additional parking and student drop off
  • Additional student support spaces
  • Maker Space/Innovation Lab/Art Room
  • Administration
