New Laurelwood Elementary School

The project will construct a new elementary school at the former Patrick Henry Intermediate School located at 1095 Dunford Way, Sunnyvale, CA including new single-story classroom buildings, multipurpose and administration buildings.The school is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2026.

Project Updates as of August 2024:

The Project is being implemented in phases:

• Abatement, Demolition, Fiber Optic Infrastructure: Complete.
• Off-site development, utilities and street improvements: In permit review by the City of Sunnyvale. We anticipate approval in September 2024.  The work is divided into two phases. The first phase enables installation and connection of water and sewer services in Dunford and Teal Drives while other street improvements, such as driveway and sidewalks are reviewed. Bidding for the first phase is anticipated to begin in October 2024.
• Increment 1 Site Grading and Underground Utilities: Construction is underway and expected to complete early 2025
• Increment 2 Building and Site Construction: In permit review and are in the final phase of review by the Division of State Architect. We anticipate approval in October 2024.
• Plans for Increment 2 Building and Site Construction are in the final phase of review by the Division of State Architect. Bidding for Increment 2 Building and Site Construction is expected to begin in the late fall 2024.
• The school in on track to open in August 2026.
