New Laurelwood Elementary School

The project will construct a new elementary school at the former Patrick Henry Intermediate School located at 1095 Dunford Way, Sunnyvale, CA including new single-story classroom buildings, multipurpose and administration buildings.The school is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2026.

Project Updates as of December 2025:

• The Project is being implemented in phases:
  • Off-site development (utilities and street improvements) phases one and two.
  • Increment 1: Site Grading and Underground Utilities.
  • Increment 2: Building and Site Construction.
• Site rough grading is nearly complete. 
• Interior electrical, mechanical and plumbing rough-in work is proceeding. 
• Roofing is nearly complete. 
• Offsite construction (street improvements) work is underway. 
• PG&E is working on the new electrical service. New complications have arisen over the new power pole location. 
• The school is on track to open in August 2026.
