Bracher Elementary Modernization

Project Updates as of June, 2026:

The Work is divided into phases beginning with site work summer 2025. Work will extend into the 2025-26 school year:

• New parking lots with drop-off and pickup lanes.
• Four preschool and TK classrooms and support spaces designed for program flexibility.
• New preschool/TK playground with shade.
• New multipurpose building with full kitchen, indoor/outdoor stage and access to a fabric shade structure over a lunch court.

• The multipurpose building and classroom building steel is erected. 
• Attempts to secure clean soil have been successful. The next round of soil export and import will take place this summer. 
• The building occupancy is expected in December. Final parking lot construction will be 
  completed in summer 2027.
• Most campus trees must be removed because of the required contaminated soil excavation and removal. A plan showing the trees to be retained and removed is on the District website at https://www.santaclarausd.org/about-us/departments/bond-projects/bracher-elementary-modernization. The landscaping plans provide many more new trees than those being removed.
