Infant and Toddler Program
The Infant and Toddler Program serves infants from six weeks to two years old and toddlers from two to three years old. The program provides a year-round program with full-time and part-time schedules available. Infants are encouraged to explore their world with trusted adults to support their learning adventures. Our programs provide "hands on," developmentally appropriate experiences based on current early childhood education, research, and practice where children can learn through play, grow at their own pace, and feel valued and secure.
For infant meals (6 weeks through 2 years), all bottles must be premade and labeled with your child's first and last name. Food for all meals (breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack) must be brought from home. Toddlers are given a healthy, nutritious snack daily in the morning and the afternoon. All lunch items, for toddlers, must be brought from home and labeled with the child's first and last name. Our staff to child ratio is 1:4 for Infants and 1:8 for Toddlers. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:00am-6:00pm. Our Toddler half-day program operates from 8:30am-12:00pm.
Annual registration fee is due at time of enrollment and is paid annually in July. Tuition is established prior to enrollment and can vary by location. Please ask the Site Supervisor for current rates. Agency families welcome.
We believe parents are a child's first teacher and welcome your participation and feedback about the program. Our sites have an open door policy. Parents are welcome to visit at any time. We encourage family input and involvement through our Parent Advisory Committees. Formal Parent Conferences are held twice a year and parent-teacher communication is encouraged on a regular basis.
Routines are at the heart of infant care and a major part of the curriculum. During feeding, diapering, washing, toileting and dressing, the child learns many things, not necessarily related to the specific routine, such as:
- Security and Self-Esteem
- Pleasure and Tactile Stimulation
- A Sense of Time, Space, & Rhythm
- Indpendence and Competence
- Cognitive and Language Skills
Your child will be assigned to a primary caregiver who will have the major responsibility of attending to their individual physical, emotional and developmental needs. Caregivers follow your child's lead in providing an individualized care plan.
A daily routine is a consistent framework for the day that provides a balanced variety of experiences and learning opportunities. Our daily routine includes time for indoor and outdoor experiences as well as time for child-initiated and teacher-initiated activities. Time for diapering and toilet learning is providing throughout the day.
As your child grows from infant to toddler, they are introduced to a modified preschool daily routine. Our preschool programs follow the High Scope Daily Routine, which includes the Plan-Do-Review sequence, as well as Small Group and Large Group experiences.
