Will SCUSD be providing additional mental health and wellness support to students and families?
(Rev 7/21/20) Yes. The district’s Health and Wellness team is maintaining current services and expanding on resources to accommodate current needs.
Will the Family Resource Center (FRC) be available to Families once schools reopen.
(Rev 7/21/20) The FRC will continue to support all SCUSD families by offering resources and referrals for basic needs (food, shelter, clothing, etc.) as well as a wide range of parenting classes. Updated information on the FRC’s offerings can be found on the Family Resource Center webpage.
If my child is feeling anxious or depressed, are there district support resources?
(Rev 7/21/20) Yes, every school offers wellness services, which include counseling services, check ins and support with coping skills. Please contact your school site to be connected to wellness services.
Does the district provide support services for students who are homeless or in foster care?
(Rev 7/21/20) Yes, the district has two bilingual community liaisons who can offer a variety of services.
Would students be receiving accommodations under a Section 504 Plan?
(Rev 7/21/20) The district will continue to provide accommodations outlined in the student’s 504 Plan. A few accommodations may not be applicable during distance learning, for example, an accommodation for preferential seating. For specific questions about your student, please contact your student’s School 504 Coordinator.
