Getting Started with Distance Learning
This guide provides Santa Clara Unified School District (SCUSD) families with resources to ensure a smooth transition to our distance learning instructional model. It is our intent for SCUSD students to be provided academic continuity that honors commitment to high-quality learning during this time.
During distance learning, SCUSD will continue to communicate regularly and post updates at www.santaclarausd.org. Please check this at least once daily for new announcements or updates to this document. The district has launched a School Reopening section on our website which includes this document and a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs).
In addition, you will receive daily communication from your child’s teacher(s). Please watch for an email from your child’s teacher(s) explaining how their assignments will be shared.
We want to be sure to support you, our students’ families, in this important transition. So, our staff has put together a Family Guide to support at-home learning as well as information about the daily learning schedule. For our students served by special education, we are still working out details on the service delivery model. The Special Education department is working closely with the county to develop the guidelines for adjustments to your services. As soon as we have details we will share with you directly through the department.
We also encourage you to explore our Optional Learning Resources webpage to supplement and continue learning at home. In addition to the resources provided, you may consider playing cards, board games, cooking, and outdoor exercise!
We will continue to provide updates to you as we have them. We appreciate your patience and partnership as we partner in the interest of our children and our community.
